This symbolic gesture sweetens the marriage and sets the tone for a joyful union.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1406\" data-end=\"1997\">John loves photographing these cultural moments because they bring depth, emotion and meaning to the day. For mixed-heritage weddings, these traditions also allow couples to share their backgrounds and help both families learn about one another. It&#8217;s considered a sacred colour in Hinduism and is believed to bring good luck and prosperity to the couple.
