The Modern Age

In the modern times mobile phones are everywhere, our parents have them, our Grandparents have them and even our children have them. And this is great we can keep in touch with everyone and know how people are at the touch of a button, well a screen…. The holiday photos, the birthday photos and the night out photos even the night ‘out out’ can be shared onto Instagram, Facebook and many other places. So there ends the positives as far a weddings go anyway. Many couples are now introducing the unplugged wedding.

The unplugged wedding what is it and why has it come to discussion before many weddings.

Unplugged Wedding

A little like the weddings that request no children as the happy couple want there wedding vows to be shared with there guests and not misheard over a restless child. Bride and grooms want you to take in the whole ceremony without you watching it on a small screen instead of seeing it in full wide angle natural vision with your own eyes. Additionally they want to keep their day private until the evening otherwise the guests arriving in the evening can see what the bride is wearing and the surprise of her amazing look for the day is lost. Hence the term unplugged wedding.

What it looks like

There are loads of images on google of wedding photographs ruined by people stepping out or holding up mobile phones. Additionally you the bride and groom want to see your friends and family as you walk down the aisle as husband and wife and not a load of phones and people looking down at the screen. I have below just shown a few image examples to clearly demonstrate to you the issues of mobile phones can cause. Personally I have no issue with people taking pictures once the ceremony is over and we are all outside but you pay a lot of money for your wedding photographer to capture your day and sometimes views are ruined of the precious moments by people with mobiles.

So what are people doing to request an unplugged wedding. Well some are asking the vicar to announce not posting images to social media until after the first dance. Some are asking the registrar to announce it before the bride enters. I personally think you can add it to your wedding invitations and or have a polite notice made like the ones below.
