Photographing a wedding at Crockwell Farm in Northamptonshire always offers unique moments, and this wedding was no different. The day started with a light drizzle, which brought a touch of uncertainty to the outdoor ceremony plans. The couple had their hearts set on exchanging vows in the enchanting woodland area, and thankfully, the drizzle eased just in time, allowing the ceremony to take place outside as planned. As a wedding photographer at Crockwell Farm in Northamptonshire, I know how special it is when the weather cooperates at just the right moment.

The woodland setting at Crockwell Farm is always a beautiful backdrop, with its natural charm providing a perfect stage for the couple’s vows. The clearing skies allowed soft, even lighting, which brought out the vibrant greenery and the couple’s radiant expressions as they said “I do.” The outdoor ceremony, surrounded by nature, gave the event an intimate and serene atmosphere that was a joy to capture.
The bride had this cute idea of her daughter putting on the wedding dress before she did, such a lovely moment to capture. Maybe it will be shown on her wedding day !

After the ceremony, the drizzle stayed away, letting everyone enjoy the grounds of Crockwell Farm without interruption. Guests mingled and enjoyed the rustic charm of the venue, and we were able to take advantage of the clear weather to capture some beautiful candid shots of the couple with their loved ones.
John spotted a lovely moment where the brides mum and grandmother had a little moment together. This stunningly simple image captures their love shared.

After the wedding breakfast, however, the rain made a stronger return. Rather than being disappointed, the bride was thrilled. Having previously seen some of John Fox’s special rain shots, she was excited to see the rain return, eager to create something unique and memorable. The heavier rain provided the perfect opportunity for one of John’s signature rain shots, where the droplets create a magical, almost cinematic effect. The couple embraced the moment, and we were able to capture some stunning images that highlighted the romantic and dramatic side of a rainy wedding day.

Being a wedding photographer at Crockwell Farm in Northamptonshire means adapting to whatever the day brings, and this wedding was a great example of how a little rain can add a unique element to the story. The day was filled with love and celebration, and the photographs captured reflect the couple’s love and the beauty of their special day, rain and all.
