There’s nothing like a set of silky smooth pins and the best way to get them is a professional wax. Our professional salon environment is perfect for nervous waxing virgins and regulars alike. Salon owner Stacey Nelson is very experienced in all areas of waxing in Cleckheaton.
For a leg wax to be fully effective, the hairs must be around 0.5cm long or unshaved for at least two weeks. The treatment takes around 30 minutes for full leg and 20 minutes for half leg. We use Waxperts Wax, a professional, multi-award winning salon brand suitable for sensitive skin, which quickly and precisely removes hairs from the shin, calf and thigh areas. The wax that we use grips the hairs, not your skin, so it’s ideal for those with sensitive or easily irritated skin.
24 hours before your treatment, a patch test will be conducted so we can check you’re not allergic to the wax. To prepare the skin and remove any dead skin that may interfere with a smooth wax, we recommend that our clients exfoliate and moisturise their legs thoroughly 24 hours before their treatment. Our therapists will also prep and soothe the skin with Waxperts’ Cleanse, Pre-Wax and After Wax oils. Our salon has a high standard of hygiene and we conduct all of our leg waxes in a waxing-only treatment room. We never ‘double dip’ our spatulas into the wax either, that’s just not our style.
After the wax, a little redness is perfectly normal. We also recommend that our clients avoid sunbeds, sun bathing, steam rooms, sweating in the gym, or any products and lotions that are too fragranced. Fake tan may also appear patchy in that area, so it’s best to leave application for a couple of days after your leg wax. Three days after your leg wax you can start ensuring you don’t get ingrown hairs by gently exfoliating the area every couple of days. When the hairs do grow back they will be much finer and weaker than before and your legs will remain smooth and hairless for 2-3 weeks.
